Wine Tasting: Epocha Restaurant, in Melbourne
Within the framework of “Promoting Varietal Wines in Australia”, a program funded by the
European Union, a number of events about Moschato Mavro Tyrnavou & Syrah, held in
Melbourne and Sydney.
Through wine tasting, masterclass and business dinners about 200 consumers, wine-lovers,
wine professionals, as well as journalists, tasted Moschato Mavro Tyrnavou and Syrah wines,
produced in Greece, accompanied by standard menus that highlighted their flavours and
aromas.
A wine tasting event by Greek Varietal Wines, was held at the restaurant Epocha Restaurant
Hope Food & Wine in Melbourne on May 31 st . The sommelier Agnie Giannakodakis was
there and she talked about the origin of Greek Wines, their uniqueness and taste.
The director of the Agricultural Wine Cooperative of Tyrnavos Sikalos Evangelos, the
winemaker Panagiotou Anastasia, Skoulariki Anna traveled from Greece representing
Tyrnavos Cooperative to attend the event, showcased essential aspects of the cultivation of
the diverse wines Moschato Mavro Tyrnavou and Syrah and emphasized the authenticity of
their taste: «We notice that the promotions of Moschato Mavro Tyrnavos wines and Syrah
are highly embraced by the public, both consumers and entrepreneurs, and especially by
Greek expatriates».
